It’s going to be a busy week throughout Waterloo Region as the massive music and technology summit ‘FUZENation 2016’ gets underway.

FUZENation is a four-day event that features tech giants like Steve Wozniak from Apple, Biz Stone from Twitter and Alexis Ohanian from Reddit.

Emmanuel Patterson is the Director of Festivals for Live Nation Canada and Co-executive Director with FUZENation.

“FUZEnation is a concept that we came up with to sort of meld technology and music. We know that this is a technology hub in North America and in the world, there’s 1000 startsup and amazing universities, and also a big music consortium in this town. What the week really entails it some really great speaker sessions with world-class speakers in the technology side, culminating with an incredible concert on Friday night with Kygo as our headliner,” said Patterson.

Patterson adds that this type of event really fits with Waterloo Region, and hopes to unite global industry leaders and influential visionaries.

“We used to call ourselves the ‘Silicon Valley of the North’ and now we’re just the ‘Silicon Valley of Canada’– we’ve really evolved into our own over the last 20 years here in Waterloo Region. There’s so many successful startsups coming out of here. On the music side, we’ve always had a cool music scene, so it just works great.”

FUZENation 2016 kicks off tonight and you can see a full list of events and purchase tickets by clicking here.
